This beautiful manor house, restored by its owners with all the care and respect for original materials, is in the old quarter of Cadiz.

Original of the XVIII th C, it has reached our days in good shape.

It was constructed by the Marquis de Sobre-Casal as his residence, and office and also as a warehouse to keep valuable stock that came from Cuba in his boats.

Since its construction, only three families have lived it: the Sobre-Casal, the Conte-Domecq and its current owner.

The house has a turret on the deck where the Marquis climbed to lookout.

When they saw the flag of his ships arriviving, they runned to prepare the stowage and control of the valuable goods ….

As a curiosity, these shippers sent plans of the house to the port of destination (Cuba, Argentina, Paraguay …) and repeated an identical home so eberything was familiar on both sides of the Atlantic.

The house has four floors that rotate around a patio with columns. It has about 1,000 sqm distributed as it is traditional in these shipping houses, garages and offices on the ground floor, manor house on the first floor and the second, and service area in the third.

The stone facade is made from oyster in neoclassical baroque style.

The house is fully restored with plenty of light, water and gas pipes, telephone door entry and new.

For the reconstruction of the house period materials have been used, both in flooring and doors, beams, woodwork, ironwork and other carefully selected materials great care has been taken in every corner of the house.

The house has passed the I.T.E. (housing inspection) in 2001 with expressed congratulations from the Deputy Mayor of the City Council for their good state of preservation.

This house is ideal for lovers of antiques and purists in the restoration and conservation of Casas-Palacios (as this has been restored as one of the few houses that currently exists in Cádiz).
