In Jerez de la Frontera, the house No. 2 of the Plaza de la Asunci\u00f3n (up to 1950 called Plaza de los Escribanos) corresponds by its location to No. 212 of the allocation made by King Alfonso X the Wise in 1266 after the ultimate recovery of the city from the moorish domination. This house was awarded tp the Chevalier of Hubeda Pascual Perez.<\/p>\n
In the nineteenth century during the reign of Carlos IV, the house was rebuilt by the city clerk Don Manuel Maria P\u00e9rez G\u00f3mez, who in 1839 improved the marble staircase incorporating fifteenth century marbles from Genoa, that came from the remains of the refectory tables of the monastery of Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Defensi\u00f3n, of the Carthusian Order located in the outskirts of Jerez. This monastery was destroyed during the Napoleonic occupation by the soldiers who used the refectory as a stables from February 1, 1810 to August 26, 1812.<\/p>\n
Located in the heart of the Official circuit of all the Easter Processions in Jerez, from it you can enjoy the spectacular views, when more than 31 Brotherhood of Penance pass in front of the palace<\/p>\n
Regarding the interior, special mention goes to the living hall with original floor tiles of the nineteenth century, the main courtyard and the marble staircase of Genoa, the loggia inside the garden with an archaway arcade from the same period.
\nIt is imortant to notice that, the current owners have a favourable report from the City Council that will allow the change of use and the possibility of using it amongst other uses as a tourist establishment, .<\/p>\n
The house is clasified as a Good of Generic Interest.<\/p>\n
